Welcome to TurnItOffNow! By using this application, you agree to comply with these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please refrain from using the app.
TurnItOffNow is designed for personal use and aims to promote healthier digital habits by managing screen time and device usage. These terms outline the obligations and responsibilities of both the provider and the users of this app.
2. Purpose of the App
TurnItOffNow allows users to:
- Set schedules and time limits for desktop PC usage.
- Lock or shut down devices remotely.
- Pair multiple devices for centralized management.
The app is intended for personal use and may not be resold or used commercially. It is not a parental control or supervision tool but a means to support prudent digital usage.
3. Subscription Model
- The app is free to use for the first 30 days.
- After the trial period, a subscription is required at €0.50 per month (subject to change).
- Subscription management, including cancellations, is handled exclusively through the Google Play Store.
- Only the Primary User (the first person to pair their device) is responsible for managing subscriptions, including payments and approving additional devices.
4. User Responsibilities
- Appropriate Use: Users must not attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or resell the app. Violations may result in immediate suspension or termination of access.
- Local Compliance: Users are responsible for ensuring the app's usage complies with local laws, policies, and agreements.
- Primary and Secondary Users: The Primary User assumes all responsibilities for managing the subscription and approving additional devices. Secondary users must adhere to the settings and restrictions defined by the Primary User.
5. Data Collection and Privacy
- Data Collected: The app only collects:
- A randomly generated device identifier (QR code) for pairing.
- Subscription status and user ID (stored securely on the server).
- Data Storage: All data is stored on secure servers in Germany, meeting ISO 27001 standards and local data privacy regulations.
- Communication: All communication between the app and the server is encrypted via HTTPS.
- Data Protection: While all reasonable measures are taken to secure user data, the provider is not liable for unauthorized access resulting from user negligence or third-party actions.

6. Limitations of Liability
- The app does not monitor or supervise children's activities. Parents or guardians are responsible for understanding and managing their children's computer usage.
- The provider is not liable for any harm, loss, or damages arising from the use or inability to use the app.
- Users acknowledge that the app is intended as a tool for enforcing prudent computer usage, not as a supervisory solution.
7. Termination of Access
- The provider reserves the right to block access for users who violate these terms, including attempting to hack the system, reselling the app, or using it for unauthorized purposes.
- Users may terminate their account by uninstalling the app and resetting device configurations. Subscription cancellations must be managed through the Google Play Store.
8. Modifications to the Terms
The provider reserves the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Users will be notified of significant changes, and continued use of the app implies acceptance of the updated terms.
9. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Germany. Disputes arising from the use of the app will be subject to the jurisdiction of German courts.
